There are more varieties of corals here than almost anywhere on earth. Twenty years ago the Philippines Government realized they had something totally unique in the waters of Puerto Galera and decided to take measures to protect this wonderful national resource. They declared the entire area one of the very first fish reserves in the whole world.

Twenty years ago getting from the International Airport in Manila to Puerto Galera was something of a major undertaking and took almost a full day of traveling to get to and from the resort.
Again the Philippine Government decided they needed a major international port and created the port of Batangas. Boats now regularly sail from Batangas to Puerto Galera several times a day.
More than this. The port terminal needed quicker access to and from Manila and they built two motorways connecting the capital with the port.

Dive training.
Asia Divers is at the heart of our resort and provides training at every level for divers of all ages. Beginning with 'Bubbles Diving' for children of eight years and up to Dive Master and Instructor. Indeed, we are one of only two PADI dive schools in the Philippines qualified to this level.
Our technical dive school teach and provide a variety of dive mixtures from regular air to Nitrox, trimix and re breathers.
Finally we would like you to know that we are a dive school associated with the El Galleon beach resort and that we very much cater for families.
Children need to be entertained as well as mom and dad so we have a wide range of activities that you and your family might enjoy from kiaking to hiking to snorkeling or even golf at the Ponda Rosa Golf club.
We also run 'Bubblemakers' courses for children aged 8 and up so they can be introduced safely and gently to our exciting sport. Then we have the 'Open Water' course which is suitable for 10 years and over.
