Situated in Puerto Galera on the island of Oriental Mindoro, the El Galleon resort was set up more than twenty years ago along with Asia Divers.

Asia Divers are one of only two schools in the entire country, not just Puerto Galera qualified to teach to Instructor level.

We do almost every form of scuba known and have a range of gasses available from air to Nitrox to Trimix and re-breathers,

We also have a technical college at Puerto Galera which covers all the technical courses associated with diving careers.

The El Galleon Hotel is almost certainly unlike any hotel you ever saw.  Nestled among palm trees and right on the beach, it is a favorite resort of divers from all over the world.

A recent survey discovered that on average any diver who dives the water in the Philippines will return, on average, ten times.

That is indeed a staggering statistic, but the reasons are not too hard to find. Our resort is slap bang in the middle of a fish reserve where there are more species of fish that in the entire Red Sea.

The water temperature is around 27 degrees all year round and the under water visibility is generally in the order of 40 meters. There are exceptions to this of course, such as when the coral spawns.

We actually have a greater number of coral species in Puerto Galera than there are in the Great Barrier Reef so for a couple of nights a year you probably won't see your own fins when the corals spawn!

Always the right weather for scuba divers in the Philippines.

We only have two seasons.  The Wet season and the Dry season.  The wet season usually starts in April and continues until September. Leaving the Dry season to run from October until March.

Scuba here is an all year event.  The reason being that the majority of the rain falls at night and even in the middle of the Wet season you need to bring sun screen with you or buy some at our dive resort.
