The IDC Staff Instructor course is designed to provide a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with the additional training necessary to staff PADI IDC's. Candidates take part in classroom sessions and development spread over 2 to 4 days immediately before the IDC followed by auditing an actual IDC spread over 11 days. While candidates participate in the entire IDC they develop evaluation and counseling skills. They also see the IDC from an entirely different perspective to IDC Candidates.
A qualified IDC Staff Instructor is certified to teach PADI Assistant Instructor courses and assist in instructor-level training. Topics covered are the same as an IDC, plus additional training in knowledge development, confined water and open water evaluations. Personal skills are also brought up to IDC demonstration quality.
Entry Requirements:
- Be renewed and in Teaching status as a PADI Instructor for the current year.
- Hold a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating.
- Agree to conduct all levels of diver training consistent with the standards and philosophy outlined in the PADI Instructor Manual.
- Agree to use the PADI System and components entirely.
