Emergencies Happen... Will You Be Prepared?
DAN
Oxygen Provider
PADI Oxygen First Aid Distinctive Specialty
|
½ Day |
The DAN AP (Divers Alert Network
Asia Pacific) Oxygen Provider and PADI Oxygen
First Aid Distinctive Specialty courses are basic training
classes for potentail rescuers in the administration of
oxygen for diving emergencies and other general first
aid emergencies.
These
are the same course with different agencies. If
you complete the DAN Oxygen Provider course with
us you may also be certified as in PADI Oxygen
First Aid Distinctive Specialty. The course is
completed over a half day and is a prerequisite
for the DAN / PADI Oxygen First Aid Instructor
program. It is also a prerequisite for DAN
On-Site Neurological Assessment for Divers. When
combined with the PADI Rescue Diver and Emergency
First Responder courses you receive the best possible
preparation to react to most diving rescue incidents.
Providing oxygen as soon as possible and in the
highest concentration possible is the key to treating
patients in diving related accidents.
All divers are strongly advised to undergo
training in resuscitation and oxygen provision. The skills
developed are extremely valuable, not only in the diving
environment, but in all walks of life. This course is
optional but considered to be highly desirable by most
dive operators and is in fact required in some regions
of the world.
For scuba instructors and dive enthusiasts, DAN offers the world's most popular
oxygen first aid program, launched in 1991.
In the increasingly litigious environment in which we live, there is now more pressure
than ever for diving instructors, dive charter operators, lifeguards and other professionals
to ensure that appropriate oxygen equipment and properly trained and qualified oxygen
providers are available where diving or certain other activities are conducted,
as well as in certain workplaces where hazards exist or ill people may reside.

a current CPR certificate, or be assessed as "competent"
in CPR by us.
