PADI Intro to Nitrox

PADI Enriched Air Nitrox

Description: Fed up with leaving the bottom early? A great way to spend longer time in some of our best dive sites- imagine 40 minutes in canyons? It really doesn’t get any better. The advantage and hazards of enriched air are clearly explained using manual and video. Knowledge is tested in a multiple choice exam.

Includes: Enriched Air Diver manual and certification. You will also complete a Practical Application session and pre-dive simulation with a PADI Enriched Air Specialty Instructor. This course also includes a Nitrox Specialty polo shirt.

PADI e-Learning Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver

Prerequisites: Prior to certification as a PADI Enriched Air Diver, you must complete a Practical Application session predive simulations, with a PADI Enriched Air Specialty Instructor.

Description: The PADI Enriched Air Diver course online includes all the knowledge development requirements for the course. You’ll also have unlimited access to the PADI Enriched Air Diver manual online for reference after you have completed the course.

After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.

The eLearning course will be available for one year from the time of course registration.

Try Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV)

Description: This introduction to “scootering” is designed to introduce divers to the skills and excitement of using diver propulsion vehicles and includes one open water training dive. This dive could also be credited as an Elective DPV Dive from the PADI Adventures in Diving program or may be counted as the first DPV dive for PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) course specialty at your instructor’s discretion.

PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) course

Minimum Age:  12 yrs old.
Duration: 3 Hours
Prerequisites: Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization

Description: DPVs offer a thrilling way for scuba divers to see a lot of underwater territory in a short amount of time. They scoot you through the water allowing you to glide over reefs, buzz around a large wreck or weave through a kelp forest. Whether making a shore or boat dive, a DPV is a great way to see more and have fun doing it.

You’ll make two dives and learn about:

  • Maintaining your DPV.
  • How to plan dives, including procedures for staying with your buddy.
  • DPV-handling skills, such as making proper descents and ascents.
  • Potential problems and ways to deal with them.

Get credit! The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor about earning credit.

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Diver

Minimum Age: 10 yrs old.

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent rating

Description: This course includes an informative video and short classroom session followed by in-water practice: weight positioning, streamlining, visualization and fine-tuning as well as the use of PADI’s “Basic Weighting Guidelines”. A great opportunity to polish your buoyancy beyond the Open water Diver level, buoyancy checks and games to make sure you can become neutral at any point during a dive. A great way to get back in to diving or just fine tune your in water position.

PADI Surface Marker Buoy Diver

Minimum Age:  12 yrs old.

Description: A delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB or SMB) is an essential piece of equipment for any diver – Whether you need to summon the boat to pick you up after a dive, ascend without a fixed reference line, warn off boat traffic or even request extra cylinders. This is a great preparatory course for liveaboard and/ or drift diving.

This course will teach you how to easily, safely and reliably deploy a DSMB; giving you the peace of mind that you are comfortable using this piece of equipment. During the two dives, learn the proper techniques and protocols for using surface marker buoys and delayed surface marker buoys (DSMBs) in the local area.

Students will need to have their own DSMB and reels. If you have not purchased one yet we can help you to choose the best one for your needs here at our dive shop.

PADI Drift Diver

Gain the knowledge and skills to activate your inner citizen scientist and complete regular Dive Against Debris® surveys under the guidance of a PADI Professional by taking the Dive Against Debris Specialty. Go on an exciting “trashure” hunt together with us on an Asia Divers Adopted Dive Site and “Splash for Trash!”.

During your one open water dive, you will conduct a Dive Against Debris® survey, including weighing, sorting, recording, disposing and reporting your marine debris to Project AWARE.

PADI Equipment Specialist

Description: This course is designed to familiarize divers with operation and maintenance of diving equipment. It is not an equipment repair course but a look at the theory, principles and operation of dive equipment, routine care and maintenance procedures, common problems and suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations.

PADI Multilevel Diver

Minimum Age:  12 yrs old.

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent

Description:

In the old days, dive profiles were calculated from the surface down to a maximum depth, then back to the surface. Now, dive computers continually analyze your depth – giving you more bottom time for going shallower and allowing you to maximize your dive time. If you’d like to understand more about dive computers and learn how you can use tools like the eRDPMLTM to plan multilevel dives, then the Multilevel Diver Specialty course is for you.

PADI Digital Underwater Photography

Minimum Age: 5 yrs old for Supplied Air Snorklers/10 yrs old for Scuba Divers/No age requirement for snorkelers.

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Junior Open Water Diver or equivalent.

Description: The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course is an introduction to digital underwater photography centered around today’s point-and-shoot digital cameras. The course helps students develop the knowledge, skills and practical techniques necessary to obtain excellent photographs with a digital camera, even on their first photo dive. It is intended for a broad audience including snorkelers, Discover Scuba Diving participants, Open Water Diver students, and certified divers. The course is primarily for those interested in learning the basics of digital underwater photography.

NOTE: Photographer needs to bring their own camera or hire our shop camera for the course.

PADI e-Learning Digital Underwater Photography

Minimum Age: Snorkler – None. Supplied Air Snorkler (SAS) -5 years old Scuba Divers – 10 years old

Description: The course is designed for anyone who wants to learn how to use a digital camera or video underwater and also helps improve the skills and knowledge of those who already have some experience with underwater digital imaging. The course is open to snorkelers, aquatic enthusiasts and certified divers of all levels.

Snorkelers and scuba divers may be certified as PADI Digital Underwater Photographers upon completion of the skills portion of the course.

After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning® system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you check understanding of the presented information before moving on. This lets you go through the program efficiently and at your own pace. End-of-section exams verify your mastery of the entire topic and are automatically scored.

Prior to certification as a PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Level One, you must complete a training dive in a pool, confined water or open water with a PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor. The Level One certification is open to snorkelers and the certification card issued for that level will state that it is a non-diving certification level. For divers in training or divers that are already certified, certification as a PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Level Two requires you to complete a second open water training dive.

PADI Night Diving

Minimum Age:  12 yrs old.
Duration: 3 nights
Prerequisites: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent

Description: The Night Diver Course includes the planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards associated with diving at night. You will learn to use dive lights & buddy system techniques as well as an orientation to nocturnal life and emergency procedures. PADI Navigation Diver

PADI Self Reliant Diver Course

Minimum Age: 18 years of age or older
Duration: 2 Days
Prerequisites: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or qualifying equivalent. Minimum 100 logged dives (please bring proof). Successfully complete a dive skills assessment by a PADI Self-Reliant Diver Specialty Instructor.
Price: $ 294.00
Description: Although most scuba dives are made with a buddy, an experienced diver may want or need to make dives without a partner. During the Self-Reliant Diver course, you learn about potential risks of diving alone and the value of equipment redundancy and necessary back-up gear. During three scuba dives, you develop skills for self-reliance and independence, while becoming a stronger partner in a dive pair or team.

Required equipment: Although most scuba dives are made with a buddy, an experienced diver may want or need to make dives without a partner. During the Self-Reliant Diver course, you learn about potential risks of diving alone and the value of equipment redundancy and necessary back-up gear. During three scuba dives, you develop skills for self-reliance and independence, while becoming a stronger partner in a dive pair or team.

AWARE Turtle Conservation Specialty

Minimum Age: 10 yrs old.

Description: Sea Turtle Awareness Distinctive Specialty course introduces scuba divers to basic sea turtle identification and conservation. You will learn about preserving the aquatic environment and about sea turtle species common in temperate or tropical waters. Students will be given the knowledge and skills needed to identify turtles and record sightings. Students will also learn about the decline in sea turtle populations, importance of sea turtles to marine biodiversity and what they can do to reduce the loss of sea turtles worldwide.

AWARE Shark Conservation Specialty

Minimum Age:  10 yrs old.

PADI Fish Identification

Minimum Age:  10 yrs old.

Prerequisites: 10 years old and a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or higher

Description: Diving in temperate or tropical oceans exposes you to multitudes of beautiful and diverse fishes. Knowing fish families, specific fish species, their habitats and behaviors adds to your diving experience. As a diver, you can anticipate fish behavior, look for unique species and contribute to valuable fish surveys to help monitor the health of the reefs in your favorite diving locations.

You will learn to identify the most common fish families and specific species of fish found in temperate and tropical waters throughout the world, including how to organize and conduct fish identification surveys, including habitats and populations. The course focuses on fish families and species found in the local diving environment.

During two scuba dives, you’ll learn:

  • How to identify characteristics of local fish families and species.
  • Fish survey techniques and strategies.

Project Aware Specialty

It focuses and expands on the 10 Tips for Divers to Protect the Ocean Planet to provide guidance and help you make a difference for ocean protection every time you dive, travel and more. Remaining as a dry course it is ideal to engage divers and non-divers alike as well as a perfect solution to those bad weather days.
