This western point of Verde is a steep reef slope, with steps at 45-50m/150-170ft and an area of very interesting topography, being boulders, caves and crevices at 60-76m/200-250ft. The Blackfish for which the site is named tend to aggregate around 51m/170ft, and on the deeper area you will come across large grouper and all manner of large reef and pelagic species, such as Batfish, Sweetlips, Snappers, schools of Jacks, large Tuna and others. Given a degree of current the fish life can be exceptional. The best time to dive here is on a gentle ebb tide, when the current will likely push you up the wall for decompression on the actual reef top.
