Our IANTD technical diver training programs offer a means of diving more safely and in more environments – whatever your level and interests.

IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver Course

Price:  $645

Duration: 4 days

Purpose:

  • Gives a fuller understanding of the applications of EANx in recreational diving
  • Provides a thorough grounding in deep diving theory and technique
  • Is an entry level Technical Diving program introducing the discipline involved in Technical Dive planning and certifying the diver to make dives beyond recreational No-decompression limits
  • Is a prerequisite to Fully Closed Circuit Rebreather training
  • Is a prerequisite for IANTD Technical Diver and Normoxic Trimix Diver Training.

Prerequisites:

  • Must be an Advanced Open Water Diver and Nitrox certified
  • Must be an IANTD Deep Diver or equivalent
  • Equivalency is defined as an Advanced Open Water Diver with 50 logged dives, ten deeper than 27m/90’, and must pass the Deep Diver exam as a pre -assessment.

Program Content and limits

  • Max. Depth 42m/140’’

  • Two hours of confined water working specifically with skills, emergency procedures, etc

  • Four boat dives, with a minimum of 120 minutes of bottom time, at least two of which must be between 30m100’ and 42m/140’’

  • All dives made on EAN 22-40

  • EAN 50 to pure Oxygen used to teach the fundamentals of safetydecompression stops. All simulated or real stops will be on EAN 50-100

  • Decompression will be limited to a maximum of fifteen minutes

 

Academic presentations will include:

  • Review of Basic EANx

  • Equipment concepts and configuration

  • Stress management

  • DCS and Decompression theory

  • Oxygen use and abuse

  • Gas management

  • Nitrogen narcosis

  • Injury management 

Course Cost Includes:

Advanced EANx Diver manual, wall certificate and C-card. All gas fills, use of  appropriate BCD, all bottom mix and Oxygen clean tanks and regulators. Local boat charters.

Student requirements: 

Plastic underwater slates or Wet Notes, line and reel/spool with liftbag or safety balloon, knife, surface signal device such as Dive Alert and preferably own means of monitoring depth, time, and direction. This equipment will be available for rent.

Important:

Students with unsafe attitudes or demonstrating bad dive habits or poor water skills will not be certified. Training is purchased upon enrolment and certification is earned through the students performance and knowledge demonstrated at the end of the course. Performance will be evaluated using the IANTD ‘Individual Dive’ and ‘Course Completion’ forms. Candidates not achieving a passing score will be required to make additional dives for certification.

IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver

Price:  $645

Duration: 4-5 days

Purpose:

  • Gives a fuller understanding of the applications of both EANx and of trimix in recreational diving depths

  • Provides a thorough grounding in deep diving theory and technique

  • Is an entry level Technical Diving program introducing the discipline involved in technical dive planning and certifying the diver to make dives beyond recreational no-decompression limits

  • Is an acceptable prerequisite prerequisite for IANTD  Normoxic Trimix Diver Training.

Prerequisites:

  • Must be an Advanced Open Water Diver and Recreational Trimix certified

  • Must be an IANTD Deep Diver/Advanced Nitrox Diver or equivalent

  • Equivalency is defined as an Advanced Open Water Diver with 50 logged dives, ten deeper than 27m/90’, demonstrating  a level of experience and knowledge suitable to enter this level of training

Program Content and limits:

  • Max. Depth 48m/160’

  • Two hours of confined water working specifically with skills, emergency procedures, etc

  • Four boat dives, with a minimum of 120 minutes of bottom time. At least two dives will be on trimix with a maximum Equivalent Narcosis Depth of 24m/80ft

  • EAN 50 to pure Oxygen used to teach the fundamentals of safetydecompression stops. All simulated or real stops will be on EAN 50-100

  • Decompression will be limited to a maximum of fifteen minutes

Academic presentations will include

  • Review of Basic EANx

  • Equipment concepts and configuration

  • Stress management

  • DCS and Decompression theory

  • Oxygen use and abuse

  • Purpose and application of Helium in diving

  • Gas management

  • Nitrogen narcosis

  • Injury management

IANTD Trimix Diver Program

Price:  $995

Duration: 5-6 days

Purpose:

  • Designed to afford a safer means of deep water exploration for those already involved in deep diving

  • Qualifies a diver to use Trimix to a maximum depth of 100m/330’

Prerequisites:

  • Must be certified as an IANTD Technical Diver (or Normoxic Trimix, Technical Wreck or Technical Cave ) or equivalent

  • Must have a log or proof of 200 dives, of which 25 are deeper than 39m/130’.

Program Content and limits:

  • A confined water session or a skills dive no deeper than 27m will be conducted

  • Four additional Trimix dives between 39m/130ft and 100m/330ft with one to at least 72m/240ft, total in water time at least 330 minutes for the course

  • Max depth will not exceed 100m/330’ with END not exceeding 39m/130’

  • If combined with the Technical Diver Program, at least 480 minutes of run time over minimum 7 dives must be completed

Academic presentations will include

  • Reviews of all topics from the Technical Diver Program, such as Dive Planning, Risk Analysis, Inert Gas Narcosis, CO2, Understanding Oxygen, DCS and Decompression Theory

  • Plus

  • Helium Considerations

  • Development of Trimixtures

  • Blending Calculations

  • Use of Decompression Software

Course Cost includes:

Trimix Diver Student manual, certification fees, use of isolation manifolded double tanks and stage cylinders and any required bottom mix or O2 clean regulators and appropriate BCD, all O2 fills and local boat fees.

Course Cost does not include: Helium fills

Student Requirements:

Plastic underwater slates or Wet Notes, two depth gauges and bottom timers, preferably two cutting devices, reels/spools lines and liftbags.

Combined Courses can be combined with the Technical Diver or Normoxic Trimix Diver program which will then include a minimum of 480 minutes of open water run time over at least seven dives in addition to all other course requirements. Cost is US$1,395.00 excluding Helium and Technical Diver Encyclopedia.

IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver

Price:  $895

Duration: 4-5 days

Purpose:

  • The course is available to those who require a safer means for deep water exploration and do not wish to make air dives below 40m/130’. There is a strong emphasis on safety and skill development within the program content

  • Certifies divers to use non-hypoxic trimix to maximum depth of 61m/200’

  • Allows a diver to obtain any nitrox mix up to pure oxygen for decompression

Prerequisites:

  • Must be an IANTD Advanced EANx Diver or equivalent

  • Must have a minimum of 100 logged dives, with at least 30 below 27m/90’.

Program Content and limits:

  • Minimum of two hours of confined waterwork will be completed dealing with equipment set-up, handling and dive technique, plus emergency skills and stress management exercises

  • Minimum of four training dives, with at least three dives on Trimix to depths between 39m/130’ and 61m/200’  One dive at least must be to 54m or deeper

  • At least 300 minutes of open water run time

  • Equivalent narcosis depth will be limited to 36m/120’ and bottom PO2 to 1.4 ATA

  • Decompression will use either one or two gas switches, planned on IANTD Intermediate Trimix tables or custom software

  • All bottom mixes will be non-hypoxic.

Academic presentations will include

  • All sections from the Advanced Deep Air/Technical EANx/Intermediate Trimix Student Workbook, such as:

  • Equipment configuration and Dive Technique

  • Advanced Dive Planning and Gas Matching

  • Risk analysis

  • Respiratory physiology

  • Understanding Oxygen, Narcosis, CO2 effects etc.

  • Decompression theory and DCI avoidance and management

Course Cost Includes:

Technical Diver Student Manual and Workbook. Certification fee including wall certificates and C-card. All nitrox fills. Use of BCD and all DIN fitted bottom mix regulators and stage regulators, isolation manifolded double tanks and stage tanks. All local boat fees.

Student requirements:

Plastic slates or Wet Notes, two depth gauges and timing devices, and preferably two lines and reels/spools with safety balloons and two cutting devices. Also must have surface signaling device such as Dive Alert or whistle.

Course Cost does not include: Helium fills

Note:

Divers already certified at Technical levels, such as Advanced Deep Air, Technical EANx, Technical Diver, Technical Cave or Wreck, may have two air/nitrox dives credited and complete only the academics, confined water review and two Trimix dives for certification. This upgrade will cost US$ 495 exclusive of Helium.

IANTD Advanced & Technical Wreck Diver

Price:  $750

Duration: 4 days

Course location:

IANTD Wreck Diver courses are conducted wholly or in part at locations such as Subic Bay in Luzon on the wrecks of El Capitan and USS New York, or by liveaboard at Maestro de Campo Island on the wreck of the MV Mactan. Final course costing and logistics vary accordingly.

Purpose:

  • To train divers in extended wreck penetration diving, using appropriate trimix and/or nitrox/oxygen gases for diving and decompression.

Prerequisites:

  • Must be a minimum of IANTD Deep Diver and IANTD Advanved Nitrox Diver or equivalent for Advanced Wreck Diver

  • For Technical Wreck Diver, need to hold an IANTD ( or equivalent ) Technical Diver or Normoxic Trimix Diver certification or higher, unless these are taken as a combined program

  • Must have 70 logged dives, or sufficient experience and knowledge doing technical dives to satisfy the instructor that the student is capable of entering this level of training

  • If training dives are to be complete deeper than 39m/130ft, must have 100  logged dives

Program Content and limits:

  • Max. Depth 51m/170ft or the maximum depth to which the student is certified, whichever is the shallower
  • The course contains dry simulations and confined water training working on basic skills, line laying technique, communications and touch contact, emergency procedures etc.
  • At least six dives, with a minimum of 150 minutes of overhead environment time (typically 300-400 minutes in the wrecks )
  • Decompression gases are limited to the certification of the student, single gas for Advanced Nitrox or Advanced Rec Trimix Divers, multiple gases for those with technical certifications.

Course Cost Includes:

IANTD Wreck Diver manual and certification fee. Tanks and weights included.

Course Cost does not include:

Equipment rental, boats and gas fills, expenses for instructor and equipment transportation to the site of the course, and personal expenses at the dive location. Please inquire for projected costs.

Student requirements:

All personal diving equipment plus BCD and regulators for technical diving. Primary reel and two safety reels or spools. Primary light and two back ups. SMB where appropriate. All available for rent if required.

Academic presentations and dry dives will include:

  • Equipment set up and streamlining, line, spools and reels
  • Lights and hand signals
  • Intro to line skills in a simulated wreck
  • Simulated night dive, lights and hand signals only
  • Missing diver, lost line protocols and touch contact
  • Gas shares through restrictions, gaps and cut line
  • Gas matching, gas management, stress management, lost line drills ( silt outs ), anti-silting techniques

Tech Diving Courses
