Carmen Eaton has just left us after being here for the past few months. She has enjoyed time with Dad, getting her OW and AOW, doing some fun diving, meeting lots of new friends and working on her tan! Hope to see you back here soon…
It was a very quick visit for Stephanie Scawen and her team as she came here on a mission for only one day. The mission was to do two dives and get it on film…mission accomplished…with smiles all around! This is by Steph: “I’ve been coming to Puerto Galera and Asia Divers for over 13 years. Sam taught me to dive. Alli helped me through my Dive Master and then I completed my Instructor rating. In that time I’ve always worked in TV, but I never imagined I would come here to film part of a documentary for Al Jazeera television about me and what it is like to be a disabled diver with Multiple Sclerosis. But here I am. Diving with MS is possible! And thank God it is because it keeps me sane. I have to thank Francis for his brilliant way of getting me on and off the dive boat. Hope I haven’t crippled him 🙂 You can see MS & Me, the Search for a Cure on Al Jazeera later this year as part of the Correspondent series.”
Malcolm Hammer and Mark Connell have been working hard over the last couple of weeks towards there Divemaster certification. Both have completed Rescue/ EFR, Deep Specialty and Nitrox and are well on their way through the Divemaster course work. Better look out for a humdinger of a party when they’re finished!
Chuck Dreyfus earned himself a very special T-shirt while he was here…#1400! Now that he’s back Stateside he’ll be kept very busy with about 7000 pics to go thru from 3 different cameras. His Canon S95 was flooded in the rinse tank 5 days into the trip in Anilao. Luckily he was able to use an Olympus pen 1 for 5 days and Sealife DC1200 for 10 days thanks to some kind people who made this possible!
Klein Scuba have had a great time with us here at Asia Divers. Not only did they have fantastic weather but dive conditions have been splendid too. All our critters have been around in abundance and a couple of trips to Verde Island put the icing on the cake.So a fond farewell to you all and my we see you again in the future.
Welcome back to Peter and Deb Webster from Vision Divers in Melbourne, Australia. This time they brought along a group of 25. It’s been a great week of diving and hanging out with this lot…perhaps too much fun sometimes?! With perfect conditions for diving, weather, sunshine and lots of quality time in the Point, it didn’t take much to please everyone and make sure they all left with big smiles on their face. Hope to see you all back again next year!
What a way to start on your 50th year! The birthday boy, Curt went out on a nice morning dive and came back to the whole resort decorated for his 50th birthday. (Included were many old photos of Curt as a wee lad and even some of those scary 70’s photos!) Happy 50th Birthday Curt….ya dumb whore!! His friends Steve and Chuck made sure everyone knew…
