“With fifty people including 36 divers, we organized a trip to Puerto Galera for the 45th anniversary of our diving club “De Kreeft” (The Lobsters) from Belgium.
After a long exhausting journey, the enthusiastic team of El Galleon Beach Resort and Dive Center Asia Divers waited for us. Yes, it was already clear, it would be a fantastic week in the Philippines. Our high expectations were relieved by the professional team of Asia Divers, they guided us into the underwater world to the seahorses, frogfish, ghost pipefish, all kinds nudibranch, unseen coral,……….. Incredible! Also, the trip to Verde Island, an absolute must and with very nice dives. The friendly staff at the El Galleon Beach Resort made our stay as pleasant as possible, also the restaurant is highly recommended. After a week we had to return unfortunately to our home with only half of the group, the other half remained a week longer for some extra dives and to explore Mindoro.
Asia Divers and El Galleon, where service makes the difference.”

This blog is about interesting sea life that has been sent to us by SeaLifeBase. The one is about “Ocean Giants: Giant Clam”. As many of you know, we have many of these here in one of our dive sites in Puerto Galera. Please see: http://sealifebaseproject.blogspot.com/2015/03/ocean-giants-giant-clam.html
You can become a SeaLifeBase collaborator. WHAT is a “SeaLifeBase collaborator,” and WHO can be one? In a nutshell, SeaLifeBase collaborators are the people who help us by: a) sending or alerting us to references and photos, which we have not yet used; b) assembling data from published sources using a preformatted template; and/or c) verifying or correcting data that we have extracted and incorporated into the information system. Some of them are — but not limited to — biologists, taxonomists, scientists, and other experts. Some are aquarists, photographers, businessmen, and marine-life enthusiasts. Truly, we welcome contributions from anybody who has a passion for marine life. http://sealifebaseproject.blogspot.com/p/collaboration.html
What a great couple of weeks it has been to have our old friend back at Asia Divers. This time around Bruce managed to reach the dizzy heights of PADI Divemaster and of course no Divemaster Course is complete without a big party in the Point Bar.
Good times good friends celebrating Bruce’s Divemaster completion!— with Bruce Walker, Pete, Allison, Katarina Caesar, Chelsea Lee, Cris Simpal, Jamie, Troy, and Ruben.
This month’s cover shot for our weekly newsletter of the Alma Jane wreck is by Luc Eeckhaut Winner of the HUGYCUP 2014/2015. Asia Divers hosted the event over a two month period from Feb to April 2015. It was great to see the results of the competition and it’s a wonderful showcase for Puerto Galera’s amazing marine biodiversity. You can see more of his photos on the HUGYCUP website: http://2014.hugycup.com/competition/the-hugycup/portfolio-1st-place

Alli is back from the DRT show in Shanghai. It was wonderful to meet up with our past students, and divers and we’re looking forward to seeing you and your friends here. A very special Thank you to Qun Qun and Frani for all the help at the show. We look forward to seeing many divers from China in our resort soon.
What it a surprise it was when Sarah McLeod contacted us to say she would like to do her OW course…we all thought she was already certified! Sarah and her whole family have been close to all of us here for many years and we we’re thrilled to turn her into a certified diver! Sarah’s son Ross decided to do his DPV course and his girlfriend Christina Ginelle Espino happily “discovered scuba”. All in all, a very wonderful way to spend the holiday with family and in the water.
Look who’s discovering scuba…Ruby’s family Emma Ong Acaba, Rona Zubieto, Patricia Serrano and Karen Alzate.
A huge congratulations goes out to Charmaine Chow and Stanley Chow who just got married in the best conditions possible ‘Underwater’. Yes that’s right we conducted a mock under water wedding with a priest, the groom and the bride all on scuba. It was a fantastic day with expert under water videographer Rob Jacobs and professional under water photographer Maziar Momtazi. Now you have these underwater memories saved forever, not only on video and photo but also in your hearts. All the staff here at Asia Divers whish you the best of life together and hope you continue to make those under water adventures as the best buddy team there can be.
