The Lobster Dive Club at Asia Divers

apr16b1

“With fifty people including 36 divers, we organized a trip to Puerto Galera for the 45th anniversary of our diving club “De Kreeft” (The Lobsters) from Belgium.

After a long exhausting journey, the enthusiastic team of El Galleon Beach Resort and Dive Center Asia Divers waited for us. Yes, it was already clear, it would be a fantastic week in the Philippines. Our high expectations were relieved by the professional team of Asia Divers, they guided us into the underwater world to the seahorses, frogfish, ghost pipefish, all kinds nudibranch, unseen coral,……….. Incredible! Also, the trip to Verde Island, an absolute must and with very nice dives. The friendly staff at the El Galleon Beach Resort made our stay as pleasant as possible, also the restaurant is highly recommended. After a week we had to return unfortunately to our home with only half of the group, the other half remained a week longer for some extra dives and to explore Mindoro.

Asia Divers and El Galleon, where service makes the difference.”

What a great couple of weeks it has been to have our old friend back at Asia Divers. This time around Bruce managed to reach the dizzy heights of PADI Divemaster and of course no Divemaster Course is complete without a big party in the Point Bar.apr16a3

What it a surprise it was when Sarah McLeod contacted us to say she would like to do her OW course…we all thought she was already certified! Sarah and her whole family have been close to all of us here for many years and we we’re thrilled to turn her into a certified diver! Sarah’s son Ross decided to do his DPV course and his girlfriend Christina Ginelle Espino happily “discovered scuba”. All in all, a very wonderful way to spend the holiday with family and in the water.

Look who’s discovering scuba…Ruby’s family Emma Ong Acaba, Rona Zubieto, Patricia Serrano and Karen Alzate.

Hoppin Holy week!

PG has had the perfect conditions for the big holiday…. It was all sunshine and smooth seas and amazing visibility! It’s been great to have lots of old and new friends here enjoying our piece of paradise. Victor and Christina Maningo had not been diving in four years since doing their OW course so they decided to do a refresher and then get out for some nice dives with their friends in the afternoon. Congratulations also go to Iggy (Ignacio Javellana) for completing his nitrox course…better late than never!

Accessible Diving at Asia Divers

mar16b1

It was a pleasure to have Frank Devriese 53 from Belgium with us recently. When he was 21 years old he had a motorbike accident since that time he has been paraplegic.  12 years later Frank came in contact with diving for people with a disability and decided to try it out and since that time he’s addicted to it. Dive trips abroad are usually 3 to 4 times a year out of Europe where it’s nice and warm. Frank checks the location to see if it’s accessible for people in wheelchairs and then can start to plan his trip. If it’s possible he will return with a whole group later in the year including between 3 and 6 people with a handicap and also the carers or partners. This time he stayed and dived with us at Asia Divers/El Galleon Dive resort. He enjoyed the different types of diving here and the wonderful marine diversity. It was a bit of a learning curve for all of us here, but were looking forward to make the resort more accessible so Frank and a group will be able to come over later in the year. Congratulations to Frank who did his 800th dive on this holiday!
