Team China!

08b1 It’s been a busy time here with many students and divers from China.  Andy always seems to have one group going as another is coming in! Water temp is still warm and the sun continues to shine even in August.

Congratulations to Bo Jing from China who lucked out and had both Troy and Charmaine teaching her to dive.

A special diving day By Sue Goodman

“WOW! What fun we had yesterday!! Not one dive, but TWO:-) It just happened that there were NO other divers at Asia Divers, so Alli and I took full advantage of a golden opportunity to go to a couple sites that we love, that aren’t always accessible… went to Odies in the morning. A bit of current pushed us off on the first pass, but Alli made adjustments and nailed it on the second try! Looking for nicer light, we waited until 4pm and went to dry dock, another relatively deep site that normally we couldn’t do late in the day. Kinda spooky and darkish as it had clouded up, but very cool…. TWO frogfish made the dive special, one big one cruising along looking for a new place to perch. “

Sunny August diving days

Wonderful to have Anton Screibmueller, Christoph Winnat and Christian Weise back with us again along with newbies  Chee Kong Hee (Joe) and Thorstein Mielke. Congratulations to Joe who also did his Nitrox course while he was here. This gang from Singapore enjoyed their time underwater as well as above for sure!

Welcome back to Peter Zheng!

It’s been wonderful to have Peter Zheng from China back at with us again with another group of excited students and divers. With the sun shining, calm seas and warm water it made their time here very enjoyable while learning to dive. Most did their OW and AOW along with getting in some fun-dives in between. Allison was guiding the way for the group of 7 students and several fun-divers and keeping the team logistics running smooth. Congratulations to all the new divers!

We all celebrated 13 year old Yue Puhang’s birthday with a superb feast prepared by Chef Antoine, balloons to decorate the table, and a wickedly cool cake.  Yue Puhang came here as part of Peter Zhengs group and completed his OW and AOW courses with flying colours.

July Photo corner

Hanno Jansen has been a regular at Asia Divers and El Galleon for many years. He has quite often had a camera in his hand over the years but now with a great camera set-up and good control using his wing he is really getting some nice photos.

Check out our Monday News cover photo for July

This month’s cover photo is by Sue Goodman. Sue has been reunited with her camera twin and has been back in the saddle again taking some lovely photos. This photo was taken on a nice relaxing dive in Manila Channel. Our weekly newsletter, the “Monday News” is a great way to keep up to date with all that is going on around here. If you would like to subscribe to the “Monday News” please send an email to instructors@asiadivers.com. You can also see the whole newsletter on our website www.asiadivers.com

Andy’s corner

06e6 06e7Andy has been keeping himself very busy this past month with many students from China. Above Huang Yang and Wang Bo are doing the PADI OW course.  If you need a very professional Chinese speaking instructor to teach your diving course here at Asia Divers please contact us at instructors@asiadivers.com 06e8Andy had the pleasure of having his aunt and brother-in-law here for a visit and he took them out on a “Discover Scuba”.

06e9Shi Ke Yu, 16 years old and her father Shi Sheng Li did their dive training together with Andy.

Diving with Dad

Looking good in their scuba kit are Renaud & Ilan Gabay. Dad and Lad started off with the PADI Advanced Open Water, and then moved on to Deep Specialty combined with a Nitrox course. That kept them busy for a few days. Well done guys!

Father and son, Arne and Storm Strauss decided to learn to dive and do the PADI Open Water diver course together and what a great location to do it in. Congratulations!!

Look who’s around this week

PADI Dive Master Anne Astorga and Sami Lindroos have been enjoying some much needed fun dives.  Anne works on the Live-aboard Discovery Palawan which Tommy has just been on and Sami works for a travel agent in Finland. They were both especially happy with all the great diving in Puerto Galera and very excited when they did a muck dive to the boat yard and found a Hairy frog Fish.
